“Of the productions seen in recent hours, Volare by the Los Dos Los company stands out. The audience that gathered at the Orfeó Reusenc on Wednesday gave a long ovation to the actors and creators of the production, Enric Ases and Piero Steiner, and to their black and desperate humor.”

The Daily Point

VOLARE revolves around the difficulty of continuing to float when one finds oneself adrift, of nourishing oneself when nothing tastes good anymore. An original combination of tragicomedy and poetry, which causes the spectator to have a sweet lump in their throat. LOS dos LOS proposes a theatrical universe in which the scenographic and prop elements are pure context, where the dramatic narrative is reduced to the essential.

"How good is the absurd when, without ceasing to be, it is full of meaning and manages to transmit real and believable emotions and sensations with a subtlety and intensity that logical and conventional narration is often incapable of concretizing.

And it is that the complicity and imagination of the public, when achieved, are an indispensable ingredient that, crossing the non-existent fourth wall, complete and enrich the proposals by giving them meaning that they apparently do not have, thus achieving surprising levels of surrealist identification where it seemed impossible.

The Volare de la Compañía Los Dos Los, which are Enric Ases and Piero Steiner, is an obvious example of what I'm saying, because without any trace of creative sanity or argumentative logic, we enter a world that, in some strange way, we know and understand. Don't tell me how, but we are able to perceive what these characters feel and suffer; their concerns and fears; their obsessions, their secrets. They show it to us without telling us. And they do it through an authentic and ingenious "anything goes", which shows the comic-sentimental versatility of the two actors (also authors and directors). Mimicry, clowning, clowning, sound effects, tributes or references (to Tricicle once again), shrillness, silences, bad jokes... everything is possible.

And the result is a madness as funny as it is unclassifiable, but which without pontificating or moralizing says a lot more than a large part of many supposedly lucid and reflective texts. It speaks to us of love, of friendship, of family, of crisis -existential, social and work-, of lack of communication, of loneliness, of personal and collective fears and, why not, of ourselves, that with this absurd and at first sight incoherent work we make an (in)direct emotional catharsis as well as a self-critical reflection through a laughter therapy treatment..."
